Health and Safety with esculpta cock-rings

Cock-rings are adult toys and are intended for adults over 18. (We absolutely do not endorse nor advise using cock rings as erectile dysfunction aides nor as remedy to a medical condition). This article is intended to educate and provide insight to enjoying the use of a cock-ring with a sensible approach so that the experience is rewarding without any health risks.

Health and safety should always come first when living playfully and experimenting with pleasurable toys. Ecclectic cock rings that are designed to be size adjustable can be worn loosely (when the penis is flaccid) as jewelry - or tighter, as a delightful accompaniment to more active pursuits of pleasure. When tightened to a firm grip, c-rings create sensations of tightness and pressure that many men find exciting regardless of sexual orientation. A common misconception is that a cock-ring is an accessory that accentuates play between men only - however recent studies, as well as our own experience demonstrates quite the opposite.

Cock rings are typically worn at the base of the penis, behind the scrotum. Some can also be worn around only the shaft of the penis - (designs offered by esculpta to date are worn behind the scrotum - this is the type of ring which is generally preferred for a pleasurable experience). We recommend putting on your cock ring before your penis is fully erect. Trimming or shaving the hair around the base of your penis and scrotum can decrease the likelihood of catching any hair in the ring.  In general it is not recommended to wear a cock ring (tightly) for any longer than 20 minutes at a time or for longer than it is comfortable, whichever is shorter. First time users should remove the cock ring after a few minutes to help become familiar with the different sensations cock rings create.

If worn loosely during the day as jewelry for longer periods of time (without restricting blood-flow), there is no medical warning that we are aware of that would restrict the time-frame of wearing for ornamental purposes. Common sense is advised and to remove the ring at the first disturbance or feeling of discomfort.

If lubricant is used during play, men should make sure that the cock-ring they select comes from a reputable manufacturer and is compatible with the base substance of common lubricants. Most commonly preferred lubricants are water based or silicone based. If you use a lubricant at play, it is a good idea to check with the manufacturer for compatibility before making a purchase. We generally recommend water-based lubricants for conjunction with our products.

Condoms are very sensitive to being torn when coming into contact with other objects, particularly metallic. When using a condom for your safety, you should not risk wearing any metallic ring or part at the same time as this could damage the condom.

Warning: Do not use cock rings if you bleed easily or have a blood clotting disorder, if you are diabetic, or if you suffer from any peripheral vascular or nerve disease. Do not use such toys if you are taking anticoagulants, aspirin, or any other blood-thinning medication. In the event use causes discomfort or any unusual body changes -- including bruising, pain, bleeding or loss of sensation -- discontinue use immediately and check with a physician. Do not place over sore, swollen, or infected areas or areas without sensation.
