The vision behind Esculpta is to enable the experience of unexplored and deeply erotic dimensions of male jewelry. Desire for jewelry is carnal and primal, spiritual and existential - as ancient as man's erotic consciousness and his desire to mark his presence.
In this complex world individuality is becoming fragile. Your inner passion is all that's required to spark your vital energy and to leave your own mark on your surroundings. Esculpla knows the importance of detail in your personal moments and delivers keystone signature details to augment your most refined moments.
Esculpta's artisans lovingly hand make all our creations in limited quantities. We master our heritage from jewelry techniques from ancient Greece and the classical finesse of old Europe, bench-marking the quality of our work with old-school works of art.
Nikias was born in 1978 and lives on an Aegean island in Greece
"In ancient Greece, the Gods stumbled on mortal passions. Mortals in turn, enjoyed Godlike proportions of power and beauty. The long list of their achievements which still paves the path of our civilization is only a reflection of their clarity of vision and spirituality. The sun drenched olive groves and ancient ruins today remain blessed with light on form - surrounded by sculptures of the human being that testify that true beauty is a state of vision of man himself. As a child such exquisite scenery left an impression on me. This is my first source of inspiration."
As each man declares his presence in the cosmos, each in his own way, the universal desire of man to adorn his body and to declare his identity is Nikias' passion. "For thousands of years jewellery has aided a ritual of pleasure and expression. A sincere and subconscious expression that marks every person's energy. I find this deeply existential and erotic" Nikias
In an Athenian atelier the first seductive project emerged in 2003. 'Le Cock Ring' revealed the subversive character of Esculpta. The item that took form, carried a narrative which was unheard of since pre-christian antiquity. The penis ring as an object d'art, the possibility of it simply as a beautiful object, a new symbol - stripped of shame and preconceptions.
A passionate male clientele evolved globally. Stories published about esculpta's penis jewelry were controversial, mainly with praise and a few sarcastic about the vanity and 'shock-value' encountered in this product. The reviews, critiques and even jokes from across the 00's internet ranged from underwear afficionados with popular 'blogger' blogs (remember those?) to lifestyle discussion forums preceding pinterest, and other corners of the primitive internet - all were filled with giggles, innuendos and steaming curiosity. Even conservative minds were drawn to reconsider the aesthetics of a once 'predominantly gay sex toy' after its re-birth as an art form of universal appeal celebrating the beauty of the male birthday suit.
In 2011 expansion with our first self owned San Fransisco branch gave a closer presence to our US customers. Manufacture continues to take place in majestic Greece.
Our vision in this bold undertaking was that the art form would only achieve recognition and understanding if it was presented sleekly and manufactured under the highest quality control. Today, Esculpta supplies men from diverse backgrounds from 40 countries across the seven seas and also witnessing a rapid increase in female customers that have a flair for creating sensation. With the maturity of age, we have developed a lot as a company. Experience and focus and knowing our customer better have allowed us to progress a lot. Our core value however is unchanged, to further innovate with our ideas and to keep reinventing ourselves.
It hasn't only been giggles. At Esculpta we still experience a lot of obstacles on our path getting the word out loud and clear that nudity and eroticism is a heaven sent gift of beauty that must be enjoyed and celebrated. This view however is frequently met with paranoia, indignation and prejudice on several mainstream internet platforms. As one morality interpreted by politics and algorithms about what ideas and products qualify to be prevented from being viewed and reaching the public. As the brand leader in the field of adult men's jewelry, we feel it is our duty to continue to advocate against the increase in censorship of minor and major established art-forms involving nudity worldwide - of which the most affected are photography, sculpture, fashion, theatre to name just a few. We believe that cultural and artistic expression should not require 'approval' or mediation to set forth a proposition to an adult. It is the job of art to provoke and to post questions to the onlooker in any humane way it sees fit without any third party censoring solicitation. It is the job of companies providing the tools by which we communicate, to provide for and ensure truly free expression between adults and from any art-form to the public.
Despite the unusually difficult struggle to have a normal publicity outreach, we feel blessed that our special jewels have still been discovered by thousands of men who have entrusted us with some of their very most precious and playful moments. A trend is growing and it is certainly not a 'dirty' one. Esculpta can be romantic, innocent or devilishly playful. It can be a ritual call to your wildest inner Satyr or a symbol of love. One thing is sure, that a cock ring can only be perceived as a 'dirty thing' by one who views love-making itself as a 'dirty deed'.
Born in 1978 in England into five generation of silver-smiths of British and Greek origin, Nikias received a British education in Greece and a BSc degree at the University of London. He reports privileged to have grown up in the spiritual town of Delphi, the birthplace of the Oracle and the place that Zeus, God of Gods declared to be the 'navel' of the world.
Nikias crafted his first work in his Uncle's workshop at the age of 12. After graduate studies in London and a 4 year silver-smith apprenticeship and managing exports he developed long lasting relationships with world class museums. His clientele also has included royalties, heads of state and US first ladies.
"Personal clarity and harmony are distracted by globalization and its pace. Its easier now than ever to neglect our primal selves inside the matrix." he declares.. commenting on his jewelry as "small luxuries to complement one's uniqueness and to celebrate self-expression, which is itself erotic".
"Delivering a design is often painful. As a parent feels overwhelmed with relief after the birth of a long awaited child." Nikias cares for the comfort, confidence and pleasure entwined in his designs.
"Is it not paramount after all to tribute our bodies to the Godlike beauty inside and around us - the beauty and love that surrounds our mortal creation?"
